What is Sunset Alcohol Flush Support?
Sunset Alcohol Flush Support, or just “Sunset” is a supplement designed to reduce alcohol flush reaction. This condition is typically called Asian Flush, or Asian Glow, due to the high number of Asians who experience it.
A bottle of Sunset comes with 60 capsules. Sunset recommends taking three capsules 30 minutes before consuming alcohol, which is similar to other capsule-based products for Asian Flush. It’s important to give your body some time between taking the supplement and drinking alcohol, so the ingredients can do their work first.
Sunset is sold by SRQ Laboratories Ltd. out of the United States. Their website also has more information about the people and the company behind Sunset. Through our research into Asian Flush products so far, we’ve found that not all products have any details about the company or who is behind their product. This is a great bonus for Sunset!
They’ve also recently re-designed their bottle to a beautiful red design – it looks awesome!
The main question: does Sunset work? Yes!
While not perfect, Sunset has been the most effective in Asian Flush relief. So why is that? The biggest and most important thing is the combination of ingredients. While some are very similar to other products, like Essential AD2, we’ve found this particular combination is the most effective. We also like Sunset because they are in capsule form, compared to sticky patches like Redee and Glowless.
What’s new about Sunset?

Recently, Sunset launched a new formula called Sunset Forte – this includes an updated formula for reducing alcohol flushing symptoms. The Original Sunset, as shown in this review, is still available for those customers who swear by the original.
So things aren’t confusing: Sunset Alcohol Flush Support is the original product and has a clear bottle, while Sunset Forte is the new and improved version with a red bottle.
Sunset ingredients are:
N-acetyl cysteine (NAC) – This amino acid breaks down into the antioxidant Glutathione which greatly helps reduce inflammation. In addition, NAC works on breaking down toxic acetaldehyde which causes Asian Flush symptoms while also prevents nausea and headaches. Overall, NAC is hugely important for an Asian Flush supplement to work.
L-Theanine – This non-protein amino acid is in products like green tea and prevents “alcohol-induced free-radicals” from damaging the body. Working with NAC, L-Theanine also decreases the time it takes to metabolise alcohol.
Not included in Glowless patches, Lighten Up or Essential AD2 tablets.
Quercetin – This antihistamine and anti-inflammatory chemical reduces flushing. It also boosts the natural function of enzymes needed for Glutathione. Glutathione is a super powerful antioxidant and is one of the key elements in reducing Asian Flush. With Quercetin, the body can produce more of it.
Not included in any of the Asian Flush products we’ve reviewed so far.
Bromelain – This natural enzyme helps the body effectively absorb the antihistamine Quercetin. A large part of Sunset’s success is having ingredients that support each other to work even better.
Not included in any of the Asian Flush products we’ve reviewed so far.
Piperine – This alkaloid allows the Sunset capsules to last longer than normal by increasing its efficiency overall.
Not included in Essential AD2, Lighten Up or Glowless patches.
Thiamine – This B1 vitamin helps improve the efficiency of NAC, which is very important for an effective supplement. Drinking alcohol naturally reduces this vitamin in the body, so it’s great to increase the levels of Thiamine before drinking.
Not included in Glowless patches or Lighten Up.
Sunset’s vitamin ingredients:
Vitamin C – This vitamin helps in so many ways, making it essential for Asian Flush prevention. Firstly, it helps aid NAC’s breakdown into Glutathione. Secondly, it supports Vitamin B1 in completing its job, which is controlling acetaldehyde build-up.
Not included in Redee patches or Lighten Up.
B Vitamins – Finally, Sunset uses a combination of B Vitamins, such as Riboflavin, Niacin, Pyridoxine, Cobalamin and Biotin. Together, they all support NAC while also ensuring that alcohol’s toxic byproducts do not build-up and cause negative Asian Flush symptoms. On top of all that, B Vitamins support all of the other ingredients in working to the highest level they can.
How did Sunset work for us?
Our main concerns with Asian Flush products is that: our symptoms are greatly and consistently reduced. We know that there is no product that will cure Asian Flush (just yet) so it’s naive to believe that any product will completely eliminate our symptoms.
That being said, Sunset has given us the best symptom reduction we’ve seen from any other product. Our red flushing was greatly reduced, we didn’t suffer through pounding headaches and even our nasal congestion was minimized. We also experienced way less hangover symptoms the following day and was able to bounce back after drinking far sooner than normal.
Not all of us could swallow the three capsules before drinking. However, Sunset said that you can pull the capsules apart and mix the powder with water or juice before drinking. This is super helpful for those who cannot swallow tablets or capsules and the Sunset formula will work the same way – whether swallowed whole or mixed with a liquid.
Where to buy Sunset pills
Sunset Alcohol Flush Support sells both on their website and on Amazon USA. So far in our reviews, Sunset is the only Asian Flush prevention product that still sells on Amazon other than Lighten Up Asian Flush drinks.
One bottle of Sunset sells for $48 (unless there are sales on or the user has a discount code). They also provide free shipping (both USA and international) when the customer buys two bottles together. Sunset seems to have a large sale every Singles Day or 11:11 where customers can get big discounts.
From what we can see, Sunset Flush Support ships to numerous countries including the United States, Canada, Australia, Singapore and the United Kingdom.
Sunset Alcohol Flush Support Reviews
Because Sunset sells both on their website and Amazon, a potential customer has a few more reviews to consider. Currently on Amazon, Sunset has 110 reviews and has a 4.1 star rating.
Some criticisms include:
- “My main problem is that I usually go out for a drink around or after my evening meal, so that can be difficult to plan around taking the pills, as you recommend taking them on an empty stomach. My solution is to have a light meal but this can mean that the alcohol I have has a stronger affect on me.”
- “Only issue with the product is that you have to take 3 large pills which can be a little awkward when you’re drunk”
- “I did not notice anything as described in the marketing. I returned and received refund.”
- “The only downside is having to take so much of it, but if that’s the biggest drawback, then I’m quite alright with that.”
- “I have pretty terrible glow and sunset is the first product I have found to really help me. I still get a little bit red but it’s not nearly as bad as no sunset. My biggest plus is that it completely eliminates the headache and racing heart beat I get without it.”
As with any Asian Flush prevention product, all reviews must be taken with a grain of salt. While most reviews on Sunset’s Amazon page are positive, giving the start 4.1 stars, it doesn’t mean that it will work for everyone.
Is Sunset Alcohol Flush safe?
Like with all other supplements, these types of products do not need to be reviewed or approved by the Food and Drug Administration. Sunset’s website says: “Statements contained herein have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.”
You should see this on all other US-made supplements for Asian Flush.
While no one can say that Sunset has been approved by any regulatory body or has any known side effects, its ingredients are natural. Their website also states: “Sunset is considered pharmaceutical grade because its ingredients are within 99% purity with no fillers, binders, dyes or unknown contents”
However, as with any product you consume, make sure to check with your doctor if you are unsure.
Sunset Refunds? YES.
Sunset Alcohol Flush Support allows for refunds within 30 days of ordering. Even though the company cannot reuse the capsules or bottles (for obvious reasons) it’s still very helpful that customers can still receive a refund.
Their websites states that you can email them at hello@getsunset.com to begin the refund process. It just needs to be within 30 days of receiving your order for the refund policy to be applicable. Not all Asian Flush companies provide refunds, so it’s definitely something to keep in mind.
My Sunset pills look yellow – is that bad?
When pouring out some Sunset capsules (or looking at them through the clear bottle) it looks like the pills are yellow. Does that mean they’ve expired? Thankfully, no! The B vitamins in Sunset’s formula is bright yellow, which causes the inside powder to be bright yellow, too.
This yellow powder can be seen through the capsules, but that doesn’t mean that it’s expired. It’s simply caused by the bright yellow of B vitamins! As mentioned earlier, you can also take apart the capsules and mix the bright yellow powder with liquid if swallowing the pills is difficult.

Our final thoughts on Sunset Alcohol Flush Support
Is Sunset perfect? No. Will Sunset work for everyone? Also no. But Sunset Alcohol Flush Support has been the most effective Asian Flush relief we’ve tried. The main component to Sunset’s success is their ingredients and the way they work together.
We like that Sunset sells both on their website and on Amazon USA, giving consumers more options. We also appreciate that customers can get background details about the company behind Sunset, which makes it feel a bit more legitimate compared to other products that you have no idea who are selling it.
If you have Asian Flush, or alcohol flush reaction, we would recommend trying Sunset before anything else. The effective ingredients are the reason this supplement has already helped so many people.
